Taize Community

Taize community:

Experienced the 'Beauty of Taize Worship' for the first time in life in Chennai Centenary Conference of MGOCSM. An Orthodox Syrian Church students movement.
Interesting part was, it was very near to the sea, so it was cool sitting there and listening to the chants repeating it  and meditating.

Prayed to God from Heart as never before, complete silence, just the sounds of wind and chants were heard,  candles all around, and icons everwhere.

Contents in the Taize Worship is really attractive to the youngsters.
Its also known by the Gregorian worship.

Our church has been encouraging yougsters to visit Taize France.
Young boys and girls and seminarians visited there has conducted the taize worship in various annual conferences, it was graceful and completely rejoicing.
Friends attended ODYM too shared the joy they have received from the Taize worship.

Members of the church especially the seniors are not supportive to this form of worship may be because its mainly conducted in English and Hindi, which they may not be understanding.
Wish to bring people of all age.
If Taize worship is conducted in Malayalam, it would be very interesting and more co-operation can be expected from the seniors.

Bishops, Priests, Deacons and Brothers in seminary if you read this please do encourage youngsters in churches, make seniors understand the importance of this worship aiming the youth.

Reason behind writing this Blog is to make aware about the community and the form of worship we too have and share to it to all.
Taize worship is conducted by Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants.
Its not a religion,
Its not a group.

Its a pilgrim centre.
Its a form of worship that Br. Roger has started in France. Brothers from different denomination has come together to form the community to bring youngsters from all around the world.
